The magic of chemistry is everywhere: What does chemistry have to do with the future generation of batteries or how does it help us fight diseases with vaccines and drugs? How does it tackle the challenge of global warming? Besides, chemistry makes the world more colourful, more aromatic, more sustainable and healthier. Convince yourself!
In this one-day workshop, you will be able to take a look into the fascinating world of chemistry: by conducting your own experiments and listening to passionate chemists talk about their research. You will have the opportunity to gain interesting insights into how organic synthesis helps to make the drugs of tomorrow, how inorganic chemistry is used to develop hydrogen storage for the era of fuel cell vehicles, how analytical chemists convict doped athletes and how green chemistry produces carbon-dioxide neutral fuel for airplanes. Furthermore, we will briefly discuss the roles and responsibilities of the chemical industry regarding safety, environmental pollution and human well-being.
Join-in, dive into the world of chemistry and learn how chemists and the chemical industry can improve the world for future generations.
