How can Kenya and Switzerland tackle present challenges in mobility and infrastructure ?
This study trip organized by the Swiss Study Foundation and Aiducation International brings together 15 students from Switzerland with 30 students from Kenya. Participants will benefit from an international exchange, open their minds, get insights to challenges the world faces and start thinking about their role in a globalized society.
Together with alumni of Aiducation and with experts from Kenya and Switzerland students will work on the topic „how to tackle current infrastructure and mobility challenges“ and present elaborated solutions at the end of the program.
The program will follow a two week schedule. During the first week, different excursions will enable to explore and experience Kenya. The participants will get an insight into Kenyas culture, economy and policy and the activities of local and international NGOs. The first week serves as a preparation for the second week. In the second week, the students will initiate a project which tackles an actual problem in mobility or infrastructure in Kenya or Switzerland. In order to present the projects at the end of the week they will – together with their team – direct and produce a short video. Promising projects will be developed further after the summer school and should have the potential to make a change in the long run.
Please apply with your motivation for this exceptional event no later than Sunday, January 31th 2016. The Study Foundation and Aiducation are also looking for two students from the Foundation to support the team (Silvie Cuperus, Swiss Study Foundation, Nicolas Nägeli & Kenya coordinators, Aiducation) in setting up this unique program. In case you are interested in joining the organization team, please let us know in your motivation.
In case you have a strong motivation to participate at this summer school and lack financial means, please indicate so in the motivation statement.
